A Long Island Advertising Agency's Do's & Don'ts Of Video Marketing

By Arthur Williams

Video marketing is, without question, one of the most common forms of getting the word out about a product or service. Even though it's practiced by Long Island advertising agencies across the board, not all of them get it right. In fact, it takes a certain strategy to reach as many people as possible through video. For those that would like to implement this form of marketing, here are the do's and don'ts you should adhere to.

DO catch the attention of the user. One of the best ways to go about video marketing is by first catching the attention of those that will watch your content. This can be done in a number of ways, including the use of catchy headlines. The snappier said headlines are, the more likely it is that users will be drawn to the content. Such a method goes a long way, but it's far from the only step that should be taken from a video marketing standpoint.

DON'T overlook technologies. To get the most out of your video marketing efforts, emerging and growing technologies should be used. If you keep up with digital media, you may be familiar with a number of them. 360 degree video and virtual reality are just a few examples. Not only have they been developed over the course of several years, but they are utilized by reputable firms like fishbat as well. It would make perfect sense to include such technologies if they apply to your projects.

DO create a schedule. It can be difficult to keep up with your video marketing campaigns, so why not create a schedule for each one? Usually in calendar form, this tool will be able to show you what content, including copy, images, and video, should go out for each day. You can refer to these schedules each day so that you don't miss a single post. You can also schedule content, depending on the platform you're on, which will make your marketing efforts easier.

DON'T simply put out any content you'd like. Video marketing campaigns live or die based on the quality of content presented to the public. What this means is that you have to provide some type of value to your target audience. It doesn't matter if the value in question is rooted in education, entertainment, or what have you. By ensuring a high level of quality, you'll be able to successfully market your brand to a wider audience.
